Pastor Jared Mitchell began serving at Galatia First Baptist Church in July 2009. As a southern Illinois native, Jared spent his childhood in Grayville as the youngest member of a Bible-believing family. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the age of five and later felt God calling him to preach. Jared has spoken at a number of Baptist churches in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. Before entering the ministry, he worked as a journalist and copywriter while continuing his training at Pensacola Theological Seminary. Jared is married to his wife Celeste, and God has blessed them with two young children.
